The BACO module is an ideal solution for applications that require high quality compressed digital audio, allowing to use a wide range of audio compression formats. Due to its special design characteristics it can be considered as a single device capable of performing an extensive range of applications by only changing some of its software parameters.
The BACO card is based on the DSP563xx™ Motorola DSP family; there are several versions available depending on the DSP device installed on the card. This DSP device defines the capabilities of the card. |

Prodys’ MPEG Audio Engine algorithms follow the ITU and ISO Audio Coding Standards and there are based on the DSP56300™ family of DSPs from Motorola.
Baco supports some of the latest audio algorithms, like the MPEG 1/2 Layer III and the MPEG 2/4 Advanced Audio Coding, allowing Prodys’ partners to get access to the latest audio compression technology and to produce products with the latest technology.
The MPEG audio compression engine is part of Prodys’ offering of advanced coding solutions, which include audio
and video codecs, and communications technology.
