Cloud Codec
The main use of CloudCodec is the distribution and/or processing of audio and/or video received from a hardware codec.
The advantage compared to a hardware distribution solution is that the customer forgets all the inconveniences of a physical equipment (buying it, placing it in a place occupying space and therefore cost, maintaining it, spending electricity, spending money, etc.).
This product offers more options such as recording, management and playback of files in the cloud or Multiforwarding, i.e. the distribution of a stream to many destinations.
The remote control of the CloudCodec can be done as with all our hardware equipment, through an HTML5 web page and/or ProdysControlPlus although for this equipment it would be, if possible, much more advisable to use this latter option.

Features
ADVANTAGES OVER A HW CODEC
- It eliminates the purchase, shipping and logistic management of hardware.
- It does not take up precious and expensive physical space in many datacenters.
- The customer does not pay for the electricity of having a hw equipment connected 24x7x365, which nowadays is not a negligible amount.
- The client does not pay for internet connectivity and all that it entails in network equipment and human resources: routers, firewalls, switches, cabling, IT personnel.
- In the case of a multiforwarding to 10 video destinations for example, the customer only pays or consumes the upload stream to the cloud (e.g. 10 mbps), but does not pay or consume any of the 100 mbps that are consumed in the cloud. This in all major providers involves a high cost.
- The equipment is fully redundant at software and hardware level.
- The customer does not have to worry about the maintenance of the equipment, neither at software (updates) nor hardware level.
