The Prodys Quantum 3U is a multic-codec platform designed for high-density, high-capacity environments. Its 3U chassis accommodates up to 14 independent codec modules, providing a maximum capacity of 28 stereo or 56 mono Audio-over-IP links.

The platform features a modular architecture that enables capacity to scale in line with operational requirements, simplifying infrastructure expansion while enhancing system reliability. By isolating faults and allowing individual modules to be serviced, replaced, or upgraded independently, maintenance can be performed with minimal impact on the rest of the platform, ensuring maximum service continuity.

System Description-Modules:

  • Chassis
    • Quantum 3U features a chassis that integrates the system’s core components, including the power supply and the control switch. The available slots allow codec modules and audio interface cards to be installed according to the requirements of each deployment. All modules and interface cards support hot-swapping (hot-swap), enabling installation, replacement, or expansion without interrupting system operation.
  • Control Swith Module
    • Integrated into the chassis, the Control Switch Module provides a dedicated, independent control interface for all system cards, enabling centralized management and monitoring of every module without interfering with streaming data traffic.
  • Nerea Q2 Codec modules
    • NEREA Q2 Single Codec Module (Single Stereo): Each module provides one bidirectional stereo Audio-over-IP (AoIP) link.
    • NEREA Q2 Duo Codec Module (Dual Stereo): Each module integrates two stereo codecs, enabling up to 28 stereo links in Quantum 3U.
  • NEREA Analog/Digital Audio Modules
    • Analog and Digital Audio Module: This card provides one pair of analog stereo audio inputs/outputs and one AES3 digital audio interface. It is intended for configurations where the associated NEREA codec module is equipped with a single stereo codec channel.
    • Digital Dual Audio Card: This card features two AES3 digital audio input/output interfaces and is specifically designed for use with an associated NEREA codec module operating in Dual Stereo mode.
  • NEREA AoIP Audio Modules
    •  Quantum 3U supports the installation of an AoIP audio interface card compatible with Dante or RAVENNA/AES67. It supports up to 64 × 64 AoIP channels, providing sufficient capacity to accommodate up to 14 NEREA Dual Stereo codec modules.

AUDIO

  • Analog and Digital AES/EBU stereo audio I/O.
  • Optional Dante/AES67 or Ravenna/AES67 modules to provide an uncompressed digital audio interface in a single Ethernet cable. (Ravenna/AES67 AoIP is mandatory for 15…28 stereo link support).
  • Support Mpeg1/2 LayerII, AAC, apt-X, G711/G722, OPUS and PCM.

COMMUNICATIONS

  • 2x Ethernet interfaces to make bonding or diversity transmissions. This enables streaming of STL-grade audio quality over inexpensive links.
  • Additional LAN Management port to split audio and control data flows.
  • Call facilities: Auto-redial, call scheduler and log systems.
  • IP Compatibily: support SIP/SDP/RTP/STUN protocols according the standard defined by EBU’s N/ACIP group.

OPERATION

  • Configurable and scalable system : Up to 14 IP single or double stereo modules. Cards can be hot swapped for servicing or maintenance.
  • Each module can be controlled remotely from its Web Page or from ProdysControlPlus.
  • Automatic detection of the encoding mode used by the remote unit.
  • Independent encoding/decoding operation.
  • User Access Control to define different access restrictions in a per user basis.
  • Configuration presets to define different configurations for all or some specific parameters.
  • Alarms: Real Time alarms management through SNMP traps, GPO and e-mails.
  • One user configurable general purpose input-output (GPIO). The input can be set up to control audio inputs or reset alarms, and the output can be configured to monitor different parameters.
  • Serial Port to transmit/receive auxiliary data along with the audio.
  • Local or remotely (TCP/IP) upgrading of one or several units at once using the same utility. Factory software upgrades can be downloaded.
  • AC or DC Redundant Power Supply.
  • WEBCALL license to provide ad hoc audio links from Internet browsers in laptops and smartphones.
