Quantum2 AV

Rackmount
New

The Quantum2 AV is an innovative solution designed to simplify applications that require audio and video transmission, providing in a single, compact device what would normally require several separate units.

Quantum2 AV is available in two form factors: a full-width 19-inch, 1U rackmount version with analog/digital or AoIP (Dante or Ravenna/AES67) audio interfaces, and a half-rack version with only AoIP audio (Dante or Ravenna/AES67.

Key Features:

  • Compatability: supports multiple streaming protocols and compression algorithms.
  • Latency: “Ultra Low Latency”
  • Reliability: Prodys BRAVE technology, using multiple interfaces simultaneously, including LTE and 5G.
  • Mobility: Designed for deployment in OB vans, Quantum2 AV provides reliable communications from virtually anywhere. When paired with the external HG2 module, it can aggregate up to eight LTE or 5G IP links, while Prodys’ BRAVE protocol ensures maximum connection stability and reliability.
  • Remi Solutions: Very powerful tools to quickly and easily adapt to different scenarios without the need to add extra hardware.
    • Ethernet Tunnel: Encrypted Ethernet tunnel at Layer 2 to transparently extend the studio LAN to the remote unit. This allows remote control of IP cameras, intercoms, or any Ethernet device as if they were on the same LAN. Operating at Layer 2, it transparently carries unicast, broadcast, and multicast traffic, creating a single virtual local network between both sites.
    • Web Commentator: Software solution for remote commentators via an HTML5 web browser. No installation required—only the link generated by the Quantum2 AV. Supports up to two commentator positions, each with an independent video feed, and program return feeds and dedicated intercom channels for coordination with the production control room.
    • Web Call: Tool for adding temporary audio communications via an HTML5 browser. It allows speakers, contributors, or guests to join live from any location with just a link, integrating as another source in the studio.
    • Internet Sharing: Turns the Quantum into a WiFi/LAN access point to provide internet to cameras, laptops, and mobile devices on location using multiple IP links.
*These features require a specific software license. Please consult your Prodys distributor.
  • Versatility: Analog, digital, and AoIP audio (Dante or Ravenna/AES). SDI & HDMI video.
  • Streaming forwarding & cloud: Integrated “uplink” function for direct distribution to the cloud via Streaming Forwarding. It forwards the received video signal together with synchronized local commentary in formats compatible with major streaming platforms and services.

Use Cases:

  • Remote Production:

Facilitates the transmission of audio and video from remote locations back to a central studio.

  • On-site Commentary:

Supports commentators by sending their audio and video from a live event location to the studio.

  • Studio/MCR Operations:

Integrates into studio or Master Control Room environments for high-quality audio and video distribution.

  • OB Van Operations:

Provides a compact, all-in-one solution for video and audio production in mobile units

COMMUNICATIONS

  • Inherits world-class IP technology from the Prodys Audio/Video codec family:
    – Automatic Jitter buffer. This adjustable buffer avoids audio dropouts in the IP connection.
    – Automatic synchronization adjustment with the transmitter site rate, to give a constant delay in IP communications.
    – Prodys NAT Traversal Streaming Protocol permits router firewall pass-through with zero configuration.
    – Prodys Real time Network Analyzer to monitor critical network parameters in real time during the connection.
    – FEC (Forward Error Correction). Up to 24 different schemes are available, to fit to the desired delay and available bandwidth.
    – Error Concealment mechanisms on Mpeg audio modes are supported to reduce the impact of packet losses.
  • 2 x Ethernet interfaces: Either to split streaming and control or for bonding/diversity 2 IP links.
  • IP Compatibility: SIP/SDP/RTP/STUN protocols are supported according to the standard defined by the N/ACIP project within the EBU group.

OPERATION

  • User friendly interface via touch panel, built-in Web Server or ProdysControlPlus application.
  • User Access Control to define different access restrictions in a per user basis.
  • Configuration presets to define different configurations for all or some specific parameters.
  • Alarms: Real Time alarms management.
  • Serial port to transmit/receive ancillary data along with the audio.
  • Local or remotely (TCP/IP) upgrading of one or several units at once using the same utility. Factory software upgrades can be downloaded.
