Quantum2 W

Portable

The Prodys Quantum2 W is a portable commentary unit that enables bidirectional transmission of audio and video over IP networks (4G, 5G, Wi-Fi, or Ethernet), ensuring low latency and high reliability for live sports coverage and events.

Key Features:

  • 3 microphone/line inputs, AES/EBU, USB Audio, and AoIP Dante/Ravenna AES67 support for greater production flexibility.
  • Ability to work with 8 channels of I/O on AES67 AoIP networks such as Dante or Ravenna.
  • 2 independent stereo audio streaming channels and 1 video streaming channel, enabling the transmission and reception of video with latency below 300 ms.
  • Multiple IP interfaces (5G/LTE, Wi-Fi, Ethernet) for transmitting encoded audio and video, enabling secure and high-quality transmissions over unreliable IP networks thanks to the BRAVE protocol.
  • The combination of audio interfaces, internal buses, and routing matrices provides the flexibility needed to connect any signal source and independently configure each output.
  • Ability to route audio associated with video to any destination, as well as assign any audio source to a video signal.
  • REMI Solutions: Powerful tools that can quickly and easily adapt to different production scenarios without the need for additional hardware.
    • Ethernet Tunnel: Encrypted Layer 2 Ethernet tunneling that transparently extends the studio LAN to the remote unit. This enables remote control of IP cameras, intercom systems, and any Ethernet device as if they were on the same local network. By operating at Layer 2, it transparently carries unicast, broadcast, and multicast traffic, creating a single virtual LAN between both locations.
    • Internet Sharing: Turns the Quantum into a Wi-Fi/LAN access point, providing internet connectivity to cameras, laptops, and mobile devices at the remote location using multiple IP links.

  • Streaming forwarding: Enables direct transmission of commentary audio and video streams to the cloud.

  • 3 x Mic/Line Audio Inputs available to be mixed, encoded and streamed in Stereo mode.

COMMUNICATIONS

  • Inherits world-class IP technology from the Prodys Audio/Video codec family:
    – Automatic Jitter buffer. This adjustable buffer avoids audio dropouts in the IP connection.
    – Automatic synchronization adjustment with the transmitter site rate, to give a constant delay in IP communications.
    – Prodys NAT Traversal Streaming Protocol permits router firewall pass-through with zero configuration.
    – Prodys Real time Network Analyzer: to monitor critical network parameters in real time during the connection.
    – FEC (Forward Error Correction). Up to 24 different schemes are available, to fit to the desired delay and available bandwidth.
    – Error Concealment mechanisms on Mpeg audio modes are supported to reduce the impact of packet losses.
  • Bonding or Diversity with up to 7 IP links for secure audio streaming and the best audio quality possible.
  • 2 x Ethernet interfaces: Either to split streaming and control or for bonding/diversity with 2 IP links.
  • LTE/5G IP data links with bonding capabilities. 2 x Internal modem or External LTE/5G module with 4 modems.
  • Wi-Fi interface 802.11b/g/n compatible Bonding with Ethernet or LTE/5G.
  • IP Compatibility: SIP/SDP/RTP/STUN protocols are supported according to the standard defined by the N/ACIP project within the EBU group.
  • Local or remotely (TCP/IP) upgrading of one or several units at once using the same utility. Factory software upgrades can be downloaded.

OPERATION

  • User friendly interface via touch panel, built-in Web Server or ProdysControlPlus application.
  • User Access Control to define different access restrictions in a per user basis.
  • Configuration presets to define different configurations for all or some specific parameters.
  • Alarms: Real Time alarms management.
  • Serial port to transmit/receive ancillary data along with the audio.
  • GPIO port: 2 inputs/outputs. User configurable with multiple functions such as remote contact closures.
  • Long duration battery with charge and status indications. It can be charged on system.
  • Internet Sharing, so external devices can access the Internet through a Wi-Fi hotspot.
  • Ethernet Tunnel to link two remote local networks.
