Remote Commentary Solutions
Remote commentary is becoming increasingly common in the broadcasting industry. This approach delivers significant savings in both equipment and travel costs while ensuring a professional experience for audiences.
Prodys offers a comprehensive range of remote commentary solutions that support up to five commentators, providing broadcasters with a reliable, flexible, and professional setup.
Hardware Solution
When commentators cannot travel to the event venue, a video feed enables them to work seamlessly from alternative locations such as their office or home, using the Quantum2 family of equipment.
The video source may come directly from an encoder or via a cloud-based streaming server, accessible through SRT or RTMP/RTMPS protocols. With stable IP connectivity, broadcasters can deliver high-quality video over a single IP link. In addition, ProdysControlPlus management software guarantees secure and efficient remote operation.
This setup is not limited to sports or events—it can also be applied to other scenarios such as program dubbing or simultaneous translation.
Software Solution
In cases where professional equipment is not available, a simple yet flexible option is essential. That is why Prodys developed Quantum WebCommentator.
This software solution enables commentators to receive, decode, and display live video directly in any HTML5-compatible web browser on a personal computer. At the same time, it establishes a two-way high-quality audio connection between a Prodys encoder at the broadcaster’s premises and the commentator’s computer.
With this setup, a commentator can work entirely from their own computer—viewing the event video on screen while listening to ambient sound and coordination messages through their headphones.
The Quantum WebCommentator solution is designed to work seamlessly with the Quantum2 AV and Quantum2 AvHR studio encoders.
